Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled, 1992-93 by Bill Henson was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne in April 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 15,990.00 (€ 13,291.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bill Henson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled 1987-88, which sold at auction in May 2005 for AUD 45,410.00 (€ 27,913.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled, 1992-93 von Bill Henson kam im April 2021 bei Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 15.990,00 (€ 13.291,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Bill Henson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled 1987-88 beobachtet, die im Mai 2005 für AUD 45.410,00 (€ 27.913,78) versteigert wurde.
