A top price for Bill Henson - as previously expected
In May 2005 Christies in Sydney held the auction CONTEMPORARY ART, which included the work Untitled 1987-88 by Bill Henson. The price achieved of AUD 45,410.00 (€ 27,913.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Untitled 1987-88 is the most expensive artwork by Bill Henson that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion CONTEMPORARY ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled 1987-88 von Bill Henson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 45.410,00 (€ 27.913,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Untitled 1987-88 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Bill Henson, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
