Despite a disappointment, a good price for Bharti Kher
When the work The Skin Speaks A Language Not Its Own by Bharti Kher was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,800,000.00 – 2,500,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,785,000.00 (€ 1,374,345.55).
