In March last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work No Title by Bharti Kher. The »bidding war« ended at USD 113,400.00 (€ 102,226.63), 62% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bharti Kher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Skin Speaks A Language Not Its Own in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,785,000.00 (€ 1,374,345.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 62 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit No Title von Bharti Kher zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 113.400,00 (€ 102.226,63) und damit 62% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bharti Kher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Skin Speaks A Language Not Its Own im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.785.000,00 (€ 1.374.345,55).
