Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Beverly Pepper achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in May last year. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Chigi Plaza sold for USD 31,875.00 (€ 29,703.66) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Beverly Pepper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ligne Scolpite II, which sold at auction in September 2018 for USD 93,750.00 (€ 80,665.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Beverly Pepper erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Chigi Plaza für USD 31.875,00 (€ 29.703,66) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Beverly Pepper mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ligne Scolpite II beobachtet, die im September 2018 für USD 93.750,00 (€ 80.665,98) versteigert wurde.
