Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2009 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art & Orientalist Art, which included the work Teaching little sister by Bernard Pothast. The price achieved of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,884.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bernard Pothast - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The new dress, which sold at auction in April 2000 for GBP 25,850.00 (€ 44,254.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2009 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art & Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Teaching little sister von Bernard Pothast zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.884,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Bernard Pothast mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The new dress beobachtet, die im April 2000 für GBP 25.850,00 (€ 44.254,15) versteigert wurde.
