This artwork by Bernardo Bellotto achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2019. In the Old Masters Evening Sale auction, the work Venice, the Molo, with the Doge’s Palace, the Piazzetta and the Libreria, looking west sold for GBP 2,771,250.00 (€ 3,042,648.25) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bernardo Bellotto have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Verona with the Ponte delle Navi in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 10,575,000.00 (€ 12,401,380.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 85 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bernardo Bellotto erzielte im Juli 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Venice, the Molo, with the Doge’s Palace, the Piazzetta and the Libreria, looking west für GBP 2.771.250,00 (€ 3.042.648,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bernardo Bellotto auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of Verona with the Ponte delle Navi im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.575.000,00 (€ 12.401.380,23).
