Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work Venice: The Entrance to the Grand Canal; and The Grand Canal from the Ca' da Mosto to the Fabbriche Nuove, with the Rialto Bridge by Bernardo Bellotto. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,554,500.00 (€ 4,223,514.95), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bernardo Bellotto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of Verona with the Ponte delle Navi, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 10,575,000.00 (€ 12,401,380.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Venice: The Entrance to the Grand Canal; and The Grand Canal from the Ca' da Mosto to the Fabbriche Nuove, with the Rialto Bridge von Bernardo Bellotto zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.554.500,00 (€ 4.223.514,95) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Bernardo Bellotto mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View of Verona with the Ponte delle Navi beobachtet, die im Juli 2021 für GBP 10.575.000,00 (€ 12.401.380,23) versteigert wurde.
