Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Venice, A View Of The Grand Canal Looking North From Near The Rialto Bridge, With The Fabbriche Nuove On The Left by Bernardo Bellotto was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,049,000.00 (€ 2,305,849.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Bernardo Bellotto have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Verona with the Ponte delle Navi in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 10,575,000.00 (€ 12,401,380.23).

Die Arbeit Venice, A View Of The Grand Canal Looking North From Near The Rialto Bridge, With The Fabbriche Nuove On The Left von Bernardo Bellotto kam im Dezember 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.049.000,00 (€ 2.305.849,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bernardo Bellotto auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of Verona with the Ponte delle Navi im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.575.000,00 (€ 12.401.380,23).
