Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Grand Canal, Venice, looking North from the Palazzo Contarini dagli Scrigni to the Palazzo Rezzonico by Bernardo Bellotto was sold in the Old Masters Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in July 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,168,750.00 (€ 2,431,645.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Bernardo Bellotto have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Verona with the Ponte delle Navi in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 10,575,000.00 (€ 12,401,380.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Grand Canal, Venice, looking North from the Palazzo Contarini dagli Scrigni to the Palazzo Rezzonico von Bernardo Bellotto wurde im Juli 2018 in der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.168.750,00 (€ 2.431.645,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bernardo Bellotto auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of Verona with the Ponte delle Navi im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.575.000,00 (€ 12.401.380,23).
