Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Annunciation by Bernard Sleigh was sold in the VICTORIAN PICTURES auction at Christies in London in November 2000. The price achieved of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 8,066.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bernard Sleigh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Sunset Angel, which sold at auction in September 2005 for GBP 21,600.00 (€ 31,699.59).
