In September 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work The Sunset Angel by Bernard Sleigh. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 21,600.00 (€ 31,699.59), 44% above the upper estimate. With this result, The Sunset Angel is even the most expensive work of art by Bernard Sleigh that we have observed at auctions so far.
