This artwork by Bernard Sleigh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in February 2002. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction, the work Portrait of a girl, bust-length, seated, a lake landscape beyond sold for GBP 998.75 (€ 1,629.86) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bernard Sleigh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sunset Angel in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 21,600.00 (€ 31,699.59).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Bernard Sleigh erzielte im Februar 2002 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a girl, bust-length, seated, a lake landscape beyond für GBP 998,75 (€ 1.629,86) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bernard Sleigh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Sunset Angel im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.600,00 (€ 31.699,59).
