Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian and British Impressionist Art, which included the work A Maiden walking alone hears a cry and searching about findeth a little child by Bernard Sleigh. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,368.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bernard Sleigh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sunset Angel in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 21,600.00 (€ 31,699.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Maiden walking alone hears a cry and searching about findeth a little child von Bernard Sleigh zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.368,10) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bernard Sleigh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Sunset Angel im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.600,00 (€ 31.699,59).
