Artwork auctioned at seven times the upper estimate price
When the work Sans titre by Bernard Saby was auctioned at Artcurial in Paris in June this year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 700.00 but the actual price achieved was more than seven times as high at EUR 5,248.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bernard Saby; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in October 2011 with the realized price of EUR 8,125.00.
Kunstwerk zum Siebenfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Sans titre von Bernard Saby im Juni diesen Jahres bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 700,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 5.248,00 mehr als siebenmal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Bernard Saby; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 8.125,00.
