Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work The Crossing Of The Red Sea by Bernard Picart for EUR 960.00. This price was achieved in the auction Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours at Sothebys in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 1,300.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Bernard Picart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Allegorical Frontispiece, Perhaps A Reflection On Human Frailty in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,855.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Crossing Of The Red Sea von Bernard Picart für EUR 960,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours bei Sothebys in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.300,00 – 1.800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bernard Picart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Allegorical Frontispiece, Perhaps A Reflection On Human Frailty im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.855,89).
