Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Circumcision by Benvenuto Tisi Garofalo was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2014. The price achieved of GBP 68,500.00 (€ 86,400.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Benvenuto Tisi Garofalo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saint Jerome in the Wilderness, which sold at auction in December 2010 for GBP 265,250.00 (€ 307,689.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Circumcision von Benvenuto Tisi Garofalo wurde im Juli 2014 in der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 68.500,00 (€ 86.400,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Benvenuto Tisi Garofalo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Saint Jerome in the Wilderness beobachtet, die im Dezember 2010 für GBP 265.250,00 (€ 307.689,20) versteigert wurde.
