This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Benvenuto Tisi Garofalo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saint Jerome in the Wilderness in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 265,250.00 (€ 307,689.20).
