The auction ended at the price of EUR 150,000.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Benvenuto Tisi Garofalo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saint Jerome in the Wilderness, which sold at auction in December 2010 for GBP 265,250.00 (€ 307,689.20).
