Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Benjamin Cañas was sold in the Latin American Sale auction at Christies in New York in November 2005. The price achieved of USD 26,400.00 (€ 22,391.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Benjamin Cañas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Nightwatch of Dr. Kauffman, which sold at auction in November 2005 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 50,890.59).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 26.400,00 (€ 22.391,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Cañas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Nightwatch of Dr. Kauffman beobachtet, die im November 2005 für USD 60.000,00 (€ 50.890,59) versteigert wurde.
