Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Los Bailarines Y Los Bebedores by Benjamin Cañas. The price achieved of USD 31,000.00 (€ 19,922.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Benjamin Cañas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Nightwatch of Dr. Kauffman, which sold at auction in November 2005 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 50,890.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Los Bailarines Y Los Bebedores von Benjamin Cañas zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 31.000,00 (€ 19.922,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Cañas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Nightwatch of Dr. Kauffman beobachtet, die im November 2005 für USD 60.000,00 (€ 50.890,59) versteigert wurde.
