Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2015 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art; Maritime Art; Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work Carriage Horses Harnessed In Tandem by Benjamin Cam Norton. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,752.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Benjamin Cam Norton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The polo pony 'Jessie' with stick and ball, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,322.90).

Im Dezember 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art; Maritime Art; Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Carriage Horses Harnessed In Tandem von Benjamin Cam Norton zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.752,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Cam Norton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The polo pony 'Jessie' with stick and ball beobachtet, die im Juli 2008 für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.322,90) versteigert wurde.
