Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work British The Meet by Benjamin Cam Norton was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,388.32). Other works by Benjamin Cam Norton have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2008 by the work The polo pony 'Jessie' with stick and ball at GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,322.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit British The Meet von Benjamin Cam Norton im Dezember 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.388,32) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Cam Norton wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juli 2008 die Arbeit The polo pony 'Jessie' with stick and ball mit GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.322,90).
