The work Moonshine by Ben Nicholson was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in September this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,792.00 (€ 1,792.00), 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ben Nicholson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work April 57 (Arbia 2) in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 3,749,000.00 (€ 4,423,451.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 49 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Moonshine von Ben Nicholson wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints and Multiples bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.792,00 (€ 1.792,00) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ben Nicholson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit April 57 (Arbia 2) im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.749.000,00 (€ 4.423.451,41).
