Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mid-day in the Valley by Benjamin Foster was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,664.00 (€ 1,535.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Benjamin Foster have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Country Road in February 2002 with an auction result of USD 5,875.00 (€ 6,785.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mid-day in the Valley von Benjamin Foster kam im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.664,00 (€ 1.535,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Benjamin Foster auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Country Road im Februar 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.875,00 (€ 6.785,63).
