Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work T.W.A. Terminal, Kennedy Airport, 1965 by Bedrich Grunzweig was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,536.84). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bedrich Grunzweig - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Between Heaven And Earth: Window-Washer Of The Un, which sold at auction in April 2019 for USD 4,825.00 (€ 4,307.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit T.W.A. Terminal, Kennedy Airport, 1965 von Bedrich Grunzweig im Februar 2005 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.040,00 (€ 1.536,84) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Bedrich Grunzweig mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Between Heaven And Earth: Window-Washer Of The Un beobachtet, die im April 2019 für USD 4.825,00 (€ 4.307,65) versteigert wurde.
