This artwork by Beauford Delaney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in December 2019. In the Art Contemporain Day Sale auction, the work without title sold for EUR 27,500.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Beauford Delaney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work James Baldwin in October last year with an auction result of GBP 1,026,000.00 (€ 1,195,278.64).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 83 % übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Beauford Delaney erzielte im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art Contemporain Day Sale wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für EUR 27.500,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Beauford Delaney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit James Baldwin im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.026.000,00 (€ 1.195.278,64).
