Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Beatrice Wood was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,463.36). Other works by Beatrice Wood have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in January 2011 by the work Her Mistake at USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,468.47).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Beatrice Wood im Januar 2011 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.750,00 (€ 3.463,36) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Beatrice Wood wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Januar 2011 die Arbeit Her Mistake mit USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.468,47).
