Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled by Baya was auctioned at Sothebys in Doha in October 2014. It changed hands for a price of USD 28,125.00 (€ 22,446.13) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Baya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November this year for GBP 47,880.00 (€ 55,482.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled von Baya kam im Oktober 2014 bei Sothebys in Doha zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 28.125,00 (€ 22.446,13) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Baya mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für GBP 47.880,00 (€ 55.482,51) versteigert wurde.
