Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Wallflower, A Hound From The North Warwickshire Hunt; And A Fox by Basil Nightingale was sold in the Sporting Art and Dogs auction at Christies in London in November 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 896.25 (€ 1,289.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Basil Nightingale achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Breaking Cover in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,425.63).

Die Arbeit Wallflower, A Hound From The North Warwickshire Hunt; And A Fox von Basil Nightingale wurde im November 2004 in der Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 896,25 (€ 1.289,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Basil Nightingale erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Breaking Cover im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.425,63).
