The work Grief! by Basil Nightingale was worth GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,106.41) to a buyer in June 2013. This price was achieved in the auction Sporting and Wildlife Art at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Basil Nightingale - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Breaking Cover, which sold at auction in June 2013 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,425.63).
