In the Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection auction, the work Two Views Of Tivoli: A) A Gothic House And Figures Outside An Osteria; B) Figures Resting And Drinking Outside A House sold for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,764.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bartolomeo Pinelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Marcus Furius Camillus liberating Rome from the Gauls (recto); A compositional study of the same subject (verso), which sold at auction in July 2011 for GBP 55,250.00 (€ 63,407.64).
