Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Achilles scaring away Trojans after the death of Patroclus by Bartolomeo Pinelli was auctioned at Christies in New York in January last year. The price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,246.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bartolomeo Pinelli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Marcus Furius Camillus liberating Rome from the Gauls (recto); A compositional study of the same subject (verso) in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 63,407.64).

Die Arbeit Achilles scaring away Trojans after the death of Patroclus von Bartolomeo Pinelli kam im Januar letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.246,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bartolomeo Pinelli auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Marcus Furius Camillus liberating Rome from the Gauls (recto); A compositional study of the same subject (verso) im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.250,00 (€ 63.407,64).
