Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Emperor Augustus; and the Emperor Claudius by Bartolomeo Passarotti was auctioned at Christies in London in December this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,515.59). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bartolomeo Passarotti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Lope Varona Di Villanahue Of Burgos, Half Length With A Book In His Right Hand in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 286,000.00 (€ 264,032.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Emperor Augustus; and the Emperor Claudius von Bartolomeo Passarotti im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.788,00 (€ 5.515,59) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bartolomeo Passarotti erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Lope Varona Di Villanahue Of Burgos, Half Length With A Book In His Right Hand im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 286.000,00 (€ 264.032,50).
