In January 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Collection of A. Alfred Taubman: Old Masters, which included the work Study Of Seated Woman Sleeping by Bartolomeo Passarotti. The price achieved of USD 60,000.00 (€ 55,391.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bartolomeo Passarotti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Lope Varona Di Villanahue Of Burgos, Half Length With A Book In His Right Hand in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 286,000.00 (€ 264,032.50).
