In February 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings and Sculpture Day Sale, which included the work Wooded Landscape With Latona And The Lycian Peasants by Bartholomeus Breenbergh. The result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 32,757.35) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bartholomeus Breenbergh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Classical Landscape With Mercury And Argos in July 2001 with an auction result of GBP 102,750.00 (€ 167,320.96).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Februar 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings and Sculpture Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wooded Landscape With Latona And The Lycian Peasants von Bartholomeus Breenbergh zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 32.757,35) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bartholomeus Breenbergh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Classical Landscape With Mercury And Argos im Juli 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 102.750,00 (€ 167.320,96).
