Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Elijah And Rebecca At The Well by Bartholomeus Breenbergh was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2018. The price achieved of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 42,045.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bartholomeus Breenbergh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Classical Landscape With Mercury And Argos, which sold at auction in July 2001 for GBP 102,750.00 (€ 167,320.96).

Die Arbeit Elijah And Rebecca At The Well von Bartholomeus Breenbergh kam im Juli 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 42.045,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Bartholomeus Breenbergh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Classical Landscape With Mercury And Argos beobachtet, die im Juli 2001 für GBP 102.750,00 (€ 167.320,96) versteigert wurde.
