In the Modern Medici: Masterpieces from a New York Collection auction, the work Allegory Of Vanity changed hands for USD 69,300.00 (€ 63,823.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bartholomeus Breenbergh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Classical Landscape With Mercury And Argos, which sold at auction in July 2001 for GBP 102,750.00 (€ 167,320.96).
