This artwork by Barker Fairley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2011. In the Important Canadian Art auction, the work Yellow Trees sold for CAD 15,600.00 (€ 11,200.83) - well above the upper estimate of CAD 8,000.00. This high result makes Yellow Trees the most expensive artwork by Barker Fairley that we have observed at auctions so far.
