Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Pale Yellows by Barker Fairley for CAD 5,700.00 (€ 4,153.93). This price was achieved in the auction Important Canadian Art at Sothebys in Toronto and was even below the estimate range of CAD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barker Fairley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Yellow Trees, which sold at auction in May 2011 for CAD 15,600.00 (€ 11,200.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Pale Yellows von Barker Fairley für CAD 5.700,00 (€ 4.153,93) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Canadian Art bei Sothebys in Toronto erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von CAD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Barker Fairley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Yellow Trees beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für CAD 15.600,00 (€ 11.200,83) versteigert wurde.
