In the Made in Holland: Celebrating 50 Years of Christie’s Amsterdam auction, the work A winter landscape at dusk with villagers on a path, a village beyond sold for EUR 126,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barend Cornelis Koekkoek achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Late afternoon with numerous skaters by a town in April 2006 with an auction result of EUR 1,412,000.00.
