Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection, which included the work 'Martha Graham – Letter to the World' by Barbara Morgan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,276.00 (€ 2,678.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Barbara Morgan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Martha Graham – "Letter To The World" (Kick)' in April 2020 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,820.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Martha Graham – Letter to the World' von Barbara Morgan zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.276,00 (€ 2.678,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Barbara Morgan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Martha Graham – "Letter To The World" (Kick)' im April 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.820,63).
