This artwork by Bao Shichen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2011. In the A Connoisseur's Vision: Property from the Xu Hanqing Collection auction, the work Standard Script Calligraphy sold for USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,870.99) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bao Shichen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy Manuscripts in September 2011 with an auction result of USD 206,500.00 (€ 153,543.01).
