Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seven-Character Couplet In Running Script by Bao Shichen was sold in the Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2017. The price achieved of HKD 35,400.00 (€ 3,896.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bao Shichen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy Manuscripts in September 2011 with an auction result of USD 206,500.00 (€ 153,543.01).

Die Arbeit Seven-Character Couplet In Running Script von Bao Shichen wurde im Oktober 2017 in der Auktion Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 35.400,00 (€ 3.896,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bao Shichen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy Manuscripts im September 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 206.500,00 (€ 153.543,01).
