A top price for Bambo Sibiya - as previously expected
The work Three Men Seated by Bambo Sibiya was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction at Bonhams in Edinburgh in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,240.00 (€ 11,758.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Three Men Seated is the most expensive artwork by Bambo Sibiya that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Three Men Seated von Bambo Sibiya wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Bonhams in Edinburgh versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.240,00 (€ 11.758,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Three Men Seated das teuerste Kunstwerk von Bambo Sibiya, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
