Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tulips, roses and other flowers in a basket on a table, with shells, fruit, a lizard and a butterfly by Balthasar van der Ast was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2020. The price achieved of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 139,427.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Balthasar van der Ast achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 1,497,250.00 (€ 1,846,525.06).

Die Arbeit Tulips, roses and other flowers in a basket on a table, with shells, fruit, a lizard and a butterfly von Balthasar van der Ast kam im Juli 2020 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 125.000,00 (€ 139.427,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Balthasar van der Ast erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.497.250,00 (€ 1.846.525,06).
