When the work Still Life With A Carnation And A Crocus, Two Shells, And A Dragonfly, Spider And Flies, All On A Stone Ledge by Balthasar van der Ast was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2020, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 30,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at GBP 150,000.00 (€ 167,313.57). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Balthasar van der Ast achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 1,497,250.00 (€ 1,846,525.06).
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Still Life With A Carnation And A Crocus, Two Shells, And A Dragonfly, Spider And Flies, All On A Stone Ledge von Balthasar van der Ast im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – GBP 30.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit GBP 150.000,00 (€ 167.313,57) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Balthasar van der Ast erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.497.250,00 (€ 1.846.525,06).
