Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life Of Mixed Flowers In A Glass Vase, With Three Shells, A Grasshopper And A Spider On A Tabletop by Balthasar van der Ast was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 225,000.00 (€ 265,923.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Balthasar van der Ast have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 1,497,250.00 (€ 1,846,525.06).

Die Arbeit Still Life Of Mixed Flowers In A Glass Vase, With Three Shells, A Grasshopper And A Spider On A Tabletop von Balthasar van der Ast kam im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 225.000,00 (€ 265.923,67) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Balthasar van der Ast auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.497.250,00 (€ 1.846.525,06).
