In May 2015 Christies in New York held the auction The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part IV, which included the work Dictamnus, also called Fraxinella (Dictamnus albus) by Balthasar van der Ast. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 22,500.00 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Balthasar van der Ast achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 1,497,250.00 (€ 1,846,525.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part IV durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dictamnus, also called Fraxinella (Dictamnus albus) von Balthasar van der Ast zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 22.500,00 und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Balthasar van der Ast erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.497.250,00 (€ 1.846.525,06).
