Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work A Still Life Of Fruit On A Pewter Plate, A Parakeet Perched On A Basket, A Flower Vase, Shells And A Lizard, On A Ledge by Balthasar van der Ast for GBP 514,000.00 (€ 572,641.59). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters Evening Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 600,000.00 – 800,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Balthasar van der Ast - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge, which sold at auction in December 2012 for GBP 1,497,250.00 (€ 1,846,525.06).

Im Dezember 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Still Life Of Fruit On A Pewter Plate, A Parakeet Perched On A Basket, A Flower Vase, Shells And A Lizard, On A Ledge von Balthasar van der Ast für GBP 514.000,00 (€ 572.641,59) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600.000,00 – 800.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Balthasar van der Ast mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge beobachtet, die im Dezember 2012 für GBP 1.497.250,00 (€ 1.846.525,06) versteigert wurde.
